Culture
I work with arts and cultural institutions to film performance, exhibition, and the kind of moments that don't repeat — a single night's staging, a temporary installation, a moment that only exists for a season. This is work about capturing something ephemeral before it's gone, and understanding what a cultural organisation is actually trying to say to its audience before pointing a camera at it.
Recent work in this space includes a project for English National Opera, filming for Qatar Creates (produced via Cultureshock), and a film for a Thaddaeus Ropac exhibition featuring the work of Antony Gormley.
What this work asks for is a bit different from a standard commercial shoot: an eye for identifying what's genuinely interesting in a live or temporary environment, comfort working around performance schedules and exhibition constraints, and enough visual instinct to find a shot that captures a trend or a moment rather than staging one.
If you're a gallery, opera house, festival, or cultural organisation looking to document or promote something that won't be there again, I'd be glad to talk about your project.
