Stronger than the wave

Stronger than the Wave is a sensory documentary that captures the experience of walking a historic 1,000-kilometre route tracing Japan’s north-eastern coastline. Filmed while walking sections of the Michinoku Coastal Trail, the camera wanders through quiet coastal towns, mountain passes and hand-carved tunnels. The region is observed at a human pace, from the perspective of a traveller on foot.

Discover how artists iart Studio, Es Devlin, Refik Anadol, a’strict, and Julianknxx use tech such as 3D projection mapping, neural networks, quantum computing, open-source VFX software, or algorithmic visualisations to tame light to make beautiful and meaningful art about our climate, our human condition, or what it is to breathe.

The House of Ron Hitchins00003.png

The house of ron hitchins

"Ron Hitchins (1926-2019) was a British-born artist, sculptor and flamenco dancer whose life and soul were rooted in Hackney." - Mark Hill

Hitchins was a highly prolific artist with a vast output, leaving a substantial and important collection at his house, which was then sold in 2021. Before the sale, the filmmakers were able to visit the house and experience the cornucopia of work that Hitchins had adorned his home with throughout his vibrant life in Hackney.
